Every day, thousands of children and families in Jamaica face challenges that threaten their health, education, and well-being. Childhood hunger, limited access to education, and lack of basic necessities create barriers that are difficult to overcome alone. Rise Again Jamaica Incorporated steps in to change these realities by providing school lunches, graduation sponsorships, food assistance, hygiene support, and emergency relief. The stories shared here reveal the true power of community support and hope, showing how lives transform when people come together to make a difference.
Why Stories of Impact Matter
Stories connect us. They help us see beyond statistics and understand the real people behind the numbers. When you read about a child who no longer goes to school hungry or a family that found stability through support, you feel the hope and resilience that fuel change. These stories honor the dignity of those helped and inspire others to join the mission. They remind us that every donation, every sponsorship, and every act of kindness creates ripples of transformation across communities.

A School Lunch That Changed Everything for Amara
Amara is a bright 9-year-old girl from a small rural community in Jamaica. Before Rise Again Jamaica’s School Lunch Initiative reached her school, Amara often attended classes hungry. Her mother works long hours cleaning homes, and sometimes there wasn’t enough food to go around. Amara struggled to focus and keep up with her lessons.
When the nonprofit began providing daily nutritious meals, everything changed. Amara’s energy improved, and her attendance increased. She started participating actively in class and even joined the school’s reading club. Her teacher noticed a remarkable difference in her confidence and academic performance.
Amara’s story shows how a simple meal can open doors to learning and growth. It highlights the importance of addressing childhood hunger to create opportunities for success.
Supporting the Williams Family Through Hard Times

Rise Again Jamaica Incorporated Founder Michelle Ramundo meets with Trudian Williams in St. James, Jamaica, to assess her living conditions and identify ways to support her family.
Chudian Williams, a mother of five from St. James, Jamaica, faced unimaginable challenges after losing her shelter and being forced to leave the land where she had been living. With nowhere else to go, she and her children took refuge in a makeshift structure built from scrap materials, with a gravel floor and a leaking roof that offered little protection from the elements.
When Rise Again Jamaica Incorporated learned of Chudian's situation, we knew we had to act. Through the generosity of our supporters, we provided essential building materials, including cement, steel reinforcement, concrete blocks, and delivery assistance to help begin the construction of a safe one-bedroom home for Chudian and her children.
What was once an unsafe shelter is now being transformed into a secure place where her family can sleep, live, and begin rebuilding their lives. Beyond providing materials, this project restored hope to a mother who had nearly lost everything and reminded her that she was not alone.
Chudian's story is a powerful example of how community support can change lives. By helping provide safe housing, we are creating stability for her children, improving their quality of life, and giving the family a foundation on which to build a brighter future.
At Rise Again Jamaica Incorporated, we believe every family deserves a safe place to call home. Together, we are helping one family at a time.Story
Graduation Sponsorship Opens New Horizons for Students

During a recent visit to Chatsworth Primary and Infant School, Rise Again Jamaica Incorporated met with students, including several who received graduation sponsorships to help celebrate this important milestone in their educational journey.
Education is one of the most powerful tools for breaking the cycle of poverty, but for many families, the cost of graduation can be a significant financial burden. During a recent visit to Chatsworth Primary and Infant School in St. James, Jamaica, Rise Again Jamaica Incorporated learned that several students were at risk of missing graduation activities because their families could not afford the required fees.
Through our Graduation Sponsorship Program, Rise Again Jamaica Incorporated stepped in to cover graduation expenses for multiple students, ensuring they could proudly participate in this important milestone alongside their classmates. This support allowed students to celebrate their achievements, create lasting memories, and move forward to the next stage of their educational journey with confidence.
For these young graduates, the sponsorship was more than financial assistance, it was a reminder that their hard work matters and that their community believes in their future. The joy and excitement on graduation day reflected the impact that even a small investment can have on a child's life.
By supporting education and recognizing student achievement, we are helping build confidence, inspire future success, and create opportunities for children to reach their full potential. Together, we are helping Jamaica's children dream bigger and achieve more.
