When the storm passes, the need is just beginning
Hurricanes and other disasters do not end when the wind stops. Families are left with soaked bedding, no clean water, damaged roofs and no income while they rebuild. Rise Again Jamaica Incorporated responds with what households need to get through the first weeks, and what communities need to rebuild after that.

How we respond
We work through our contacts on the ground to identify the households in greatest need, purchase locally where possible so recovery money stays in the community, and deliver directly to families. Relief work is documented the same way our school work is, with logs, receipts and photographs.
In May 2026 we rebuilt a home in St. James that was damaged by Hurricane Melissa, and ran a food distribution for 50 students and their families at Chatsworth Primary and Infant School as part of the same recovery effort. In July 2026 we distributed clothing from seven barrels and ran a food distribution in Mount Salem, Montego Bay, serving more than 100 families, and donated a further barrel of clothing to Prospect Community Church in Prospect, Trelawny.
